Open Adobe Photoshop. Select "File" and then "Open." Search for the photograph you wish from which to make a color swatch and select "Open" to open the file.
Select the "Palette" drop-down menu and choose "Local (Perceptual)" from the list of items. Set the "Colors" area to "256" and the "Forced" area to "None." Also, set the "Dither" option to "None" before clicking "OK" to close the window.
Select "Image" from the top bar and select "Mode" from the list of drop-down items. Choose "Color Table" from the second drop-down menu that appears.
Click the "Save" button to save your newly created color palette into a color swatch that you can load into Photoshop for later use. Name the file and then select "OK" to finish creating the swatch.
